Project Peru at Christmas 2013- distribution of Christmas 'baskets'

Thanks to our Christmas appeal and especially through a generous response from the Amoria Bond company and their large donation of food, Project Peru received a delivery for distribution just before Christmas. This was sorted into Christmas 'baskets' for around 100 families including the families of our own children and families in Las Laderas, delivered to the refuge, and sorted ; then it was donated at our Christmas 'show' to which some people from Las Laderas were invited or was distributed in Las Laderas.

Project Peru at Christmas 2013 - visitors to the refuge

Thanks to our Christmas appeal http://projectperu.org.uk/news/2013/12/02/project-peru-christmas-appeal-2013.htm and as a part of our programme of social awareness in the community, the children who live in our refuge invited a group of older people who live in extreme poverty outside our walls to visit them at the refuge to give us a chance to share with others not only the traditional Christmas panetones and hot chocolate but also dancing and music and small gifts. We were also able to donate some of the knitted items sent out in our recent cargo.

Project Peru Christmas Appeal 2013

   Enjoy fabulous festive days!

...but do go to http://www.justgiving.com/projectperuchristmas2013 and make a donation....and see other News pages to see what we have already done

Your support will ensure that the children in Project Peru's refuge have a chance to share their Christmas joy with others living in extreme poverty in the local shanty town communities.

They bring traditional panetones and hot chocolate, music, dance and singing to families struggling to survive, and invite older people into our refuge for a special fiesta, food and fun.

We welcome your generosity and understanding; your donations will ensure their own celebrations…and much more.

Or you could send us a cheque or Text PERU93 up to £10 to 70070

Warmest wishes and a big thank you: GRACIAS

Carole and everyone in Project Peru

Our latest cargo has arrived

We send a cargo from the UK generally once a year and our recent delivery included materials for our kitchen, educational, art and stationery materials, books for our library, educational and recreational toys for our play room, carpentry tools, toiletries, school furniture, clothes and shoes, wheel chairs and zimmer frames, together with many other items. We are grateful for all the help we get in the UK with this part of our work which supports our refuge ...and people in the wider community. See http://projectperu.org.uk/news/2013/12/21/project-peru-at-christmas-2013-in-the-sierra.htm to know where some of this has already been donated in time for Christmas.
