For many years we have organised distributions of goods in specific areas of great need both near our refuge as well as making periodic visits to the Andean sierra, to distribute donated goods, or for other activities in extremely poor communities. These have been in some of the remoter regions of Peru, including in the Apurimac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cuzco and Piura regions, as well an emergency programme one year for relief of victims of flooding in coastal towns in the Ancash region immediately north of the refuge.

Here we are distributing a consignment of new shoes donated from the UK in a settlement near the refuge.

Here we are distributing donated blankets and knitted goods in a sierra village near Ayacucho.
Here we are distributing walking frames and clothing among a group of elderly people in Ayacucho.
Here we are visiting an indigenous settlement of Asheninka people in the Amazonian selva part of the Ayacucho region, and donating school materials.
In 2012-3 we distributed a large quantity of donated goods including new shoes in two extremely poor communities in the Apurimac region of the southern Peruvian Andes. Earlier, Project Peru staff and volunteers had made several visits, developing plans with the local community for a potential new project in this region, supporting local educational needs, especially to support the development of facilities so that children in the area who lived too far away from school could have somewhere safe to stay during the week.
