If you just can't join us please do make a donation via this Charity Choice link! www.charitychoice.co.uk/project-peru-5466/donate

Raising funds to support our work, Project Peru’s sponsored bike ride and stroll is for everyone including children and families. It follows the 'Family Cycle Trail' or a number of other trails that go through the Forestry Commission's Alice Holt Forest near Farnham, Surrey, GU10 4LS. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/aliceholt ; and you don't have to cycle and are free to go where you want while raising sponsorship for us just by participating

... you can walk it, walk the dogs, push the pram, jog it ... it really is for everyone! Or hire a bike if you want to?

This is an annual event. You go at your own pace. Enjoy an all-day picnic.

Project Peru: a short video about aspects of life in our refuge

See https://youtu.be/F5tKVQCSKf0

This video [about 4 minutes long, with its commentary in Spanish with English sub-titles] includes input from both staff and children at our refuge.

Some comments about the film:

"I think the video is fantastic. It gives a really good flavour of life at the refuge as well as the ethos and philosophy behind it. You are right, focusing on the positives of what Project Peru is doing in the lives of these children is a refreshing approach to a charity video. Focusing on what can be achieved through truly caring for these children and giving them back their childhood, which in turn will give them the strength to face adulthood and all the challenges that will bring, presents the key philosophies on which Project Peru is founded. Well done to you all."

"I absolutely loved the video link of the children at the refuge. It is fantastic...Those children...they just look like they have amazing characters and it was lovely to look at their daily lives."

Some photos taken during the making of the film:

Project Peru delivers the goods

As well as providing for our children's refuge, which is our core activity, we try as far as possible to work in the wider community. We are able to distribute some of the donated goods from our annual cargo from the UK among communities in the high Sierra that suffer from extreme winter temperatures due to the altitude. We were able to distribute warm blankets, other knitted goods and warm clothing as well as zimmer frames in a community in the north of the Ayacucho region and in the city of Ayacucho itself.
