Some of our Christmas 2018 activities

The Project Peru 'show' is our annual performance by the children, including their dancing, music and a nativity play in front of family members, friends and supporters of our work.

The children were also entertained at their own party, including sharing a 'hot chocolate and panetone', which has become a traditional part of a Peruvian Christmas, and we  distributed donated food baskets to our children's families, staff and within the local community.

Volunteer with Project Peru in Peru?

We can arrange tailored volunteer placements in our project in Peru for volunteers of all ages and are looking for volunteers at any time during 2019 and beyond. We can be quite flexible, so just enquire and we can discuss it with you! There is a whole range of activities that volunteers may be engaged in, and the more varied the skills that a volunteer can offer the better. Many volunteers also raise sponsorship money for us by doing the Inca Trail. You might do  some work in our garden? or in our library? teach English? learn Spanish? art? music? sports? computers? building? sewing? help look after our children?

Building projects in the shanty towns

This is part of our policy of helping in the wider community; we are surrounded by shanty town settlements and when we have the funds and can identify particular families in need we set to to construct small basic wooden houses; on this occasion a team of our older children, staff and volunteers built this house for one of our families, with their help too.
