With an all day picnic included
A Sunday in May 2020 tbc
The 3-mile ‘family cycle circuit’ and other cycling or walking trails through the Forestry Commission‘s Alice Holt Forest near Farnham, Surrey, are suitable for everyone of all ages including children and accompanying adults — or unaccompanied children and even adults on their own… or walkers…or dog walkers… or runners. So you don’t have to cycle, you can walk it, walk the dogs, push the pram, run it, jog it …go as you like.
You can cover any distance during the day that suits your taste and energy levels, [no pressure] but this needs to be sufficient to impress your sponsors. All is fuelled by an ongoing picnic in the Education Centre area which is our ‘base’. While you are there, there is also access to a great children’s playground and a “timber walk” and several other ‘nature’ trails; or you could also pay for a ‘Go Ape’ experience. There is also an easier-access trail suitable for wheelchair users and a cycle trail for smaller children.
We ask for a minimum sponsorship or donation per participant of £30, but lots more is very acceptable! [£50 for families with children, say 2 adults + 2 children]
We start at 12 and go on till 5 so you can join us between those times. But do join us early… and make a day of it. Meet at the Education Centre.
We charge a small entry fee per participant to cover the costs of running the event and hiring the Education Centre, and towards the cost of the picnic which we provide. You will also need to pay the Forestry Commission’s normal car parking charges.
Email us or telephone 01483 576093 to get a sponsor form and further details.
If you can’t actually do it that day, you can collect a sponsorship form from us, do it on your own, then send any money you collect, please. But we need to know in advance if you are raising money in our name for this.
We hope you can join us. Hasta pronto!

…remember, you don’t have to cycle, you can walk it, walk the dogs, push the pram, run it, jog it … it really is for everyone! …or hire a bike?
