The Panamerican and Parapanamerican Games games were held in Lima in July-August 2019 involving 30 North, Central and South American and Caribbean countries.
The older children were invited by the British Embassy to watch a match between Peru and Costa Rica in the disabled sport Golbol or Goalball: this is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. Participants compete in teams of three, and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into the opponents’ goal.
A great time was had by all!
