Apart from our main purpose, which is to support and maintain our children’s refuge, we try to do our best to support those outside our walls.
In response to a request from the local soup kitchen most recently built, in 2023, by Project Peru (Working in the wider community) in the vast dusty shanty towns which stretch endlessly above our refuge, our fantastic Project Peru team carried large boxes of clothes, blankets, toys … and kilos of fresh apples, up to the soup kitchen perched high in the foothills of the Andes. They were greeted by a large crowd of mothers and children. The team spent the day bringing smiles to the faces of all as they handed out much needed goods. The large notice reads ‘Thank you, friends from Project Peru’.
