Gift Aid

Gift Aid is only for UK taxpayers: paying by cheque or direct to our bank is the most cost-effective way. Ask us for our bank details. There may be charges for other ways of donating.

  • Gift Aid allows your gift to go further.
  • It gives us more funds and lets us plan ahead over a longer period.
  • It costs little to administer in time and resources.
  • It’s easy to do: all you do is fill in the form provided or donate online.
  • As a committed supporter we will provide you with regular updates on our work.
  • Please ask for our bank details.

Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you give we get an extra 25p if you are a UK taxpayer. Single donations are very much appreciated but regular monthly ones give us much more long-term security.

How does it work?

It is quite simple. Either single donations or a regular payment of any amount by Gift Aid mean that we can reclaim from HM Revenue and Customs the tax that you have already paid on your donation. If you are a UK taxpayer, and if you make a simple declaration to Project Peru, you can make payments, pretty much of any amount, large or small, by cash, cheque, postal order, direct debit or standing order. There are no catches and it costs you nothing. We make the claim to HMRC so you don’t have to do anything further.

Who can use Gift Aid?

All UK taxpayers (HMRC’s Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, not Council Tax, VAT etc) can make a donation through Gift Aid, provided you pay in total an amount of UK income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount claimed on your gifts in the tax year.

You can sign a Gift Aid form just once to authorise all single donations to Project Peru in future, as well as backdate your authorisation to cover all donations made in the previous four tax years. Keep us informed if there are any significant changes (e.g change of address, or change in your eligibility to donate using Gift Aid).

What do I do next?

All we need is your consent. If you decide to give using Gift Aid, please print, complete and sign this form as appropriate for single or regular donations. We will need to keep a signed copy of your Gift Aid form.

If you are unable to print off the form you can telephone us or email us and we can then post you the form to complete.

Send the completed form to us in the post to the address on the form, include a cheque for a single donation or notify us of a direct payment to our bank. We can supply our bank account details on request. We will need to retain this form so please make a copy. If you decide to pay regularly we will also need to keep a signed copy of your Gift Aid form including your bank account details, and you will need to set up the Standing Order with your bank.

If you choose to make a donation via our DONATE button on this website (and on other online donation platforms shown on this website) there is an opportunity within those processes to opt to add Gift Aid, so there would then be no need to complete our form.

Help us to go on helping Peru with your gift.
