Moving towards the end of Peru’s summer 2021 we continue, against the odds, at our children’s refuge, with a dangerously spreading pandemic outside our walls, with a national shortage of medication, of oxygen and of basic health facilities, with increasing poverty and economic damage and an ongoing and fractious presidential election race.
Over the past 12 months we have had our own Covid-19 related losses of friends, relations, staff members, family members of our children, and with schooling and family life disrupted for well over a year.
We need maximum support to help us along, to enable us to provide the best for our children, including a healthy and protected environment, continued virtual education, exercise and amusement, individual personal development and communal activities and, where possible, the wider distribution of basic food supplies and support within the local community.
