The photos show the children from our refuge in the desert shanty towns of Lima going back to school after their three months’ summer break. The youngest is three years old, attending nursery school for the first time, the others are primary and secondary pupils. The local school Colegio El Dorado is a short walk from the refuge; the primary level children attend in the mornings, with secondary level in the afternoons.

Your support would go on making a difference to the lives of the children in our refuge especial at this time of year. Project Peru has to provide everything from exercise books to uniforms, from writing and colouring materials to backpacks and pencil cases; the Peruvian government only pays for the teachers! And we are responsible for over 40 children! As well as for our educational support programmes.
